What I offer is an amazing opportunity to connect with like-minded and similar-aged people to tackle the frustrations of smartphone use. I can’t even count how many times people would tell me they have a family member or close friend reset passwords or set up a new account on the latest app trend; then, when something goes wrong, like a broken phone, they’re stuck starting over, which is beyond frustrating!
While working with prepaid phone services and throughout my entire technology career, I noticed a need where smartphones, and technology in general, have taken over how we connect to information, and many people aren’t comfortable with this technology. I spent a lot of my time as a professional loiterer/vendor at the Lincolnton Walmart, helping people navigate their phones. It wasn’t about making sales; it was about helping people overcome their fear of the invisible aspects of their lives. Data, wireless, text messages, and passwords are invisible and sometimes hard to understand.
We’re the commodity when social media apps are free, and we have to log into everything to access everything and anything. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and all the others. It’s our responsibility to keep our data safe and in our control as much as possible!
